He had a tough time trying to make the decision for the past year.  At the age of 63 he could have worked until 65 or beyond. There was no pressure from the administration for him to retire nor was there any encouragement to stay. Every time someone entered the facility they told me about the dog at the door and leaning over the counter I could see him trying to come inside with the next member.Members were concerned, even anxious about this dog, wondering what to do about him. To warm destinations.  Antigua. Bahamas. Florida.Despite the fact that it is April 13th it is still very cold here, even for upstate New York.  The fact that I am still using my wood stove and when that isn't burning I can hear the furnace kick on, is just a tad depressing. There is a network of people that do this on a regular basis.  That is transport dogs that have been rescued. This is Max.  He is a purebred Golden Retriever.  We think he is about 10 months old, I'll find out his exact age when I can get possession of all of his records.  Max was an owner surrender. There is nothing like sitting at a ball game in the summer time, any where in the United States, be it Little League or AAA baseball, you gotta love the boys of summer.  I especially love the Red Sox and my youngest son has become a huge fan. Population wise it may not be that small.  In fact it isn't even a town, it's a city.  But it has the atmosphere of a town.  A town with a river that separates one side from the other. After spending the last 29 days in Jacksonville Florida, he flew in last night and is golfing with big brother and a friend as I type.
